Rest of the Day: Simplenote Goes Open Source
Simplenote, one of our favorite minimalist note-taking apps , has decided to make all of its software open source. Good news for anyone looking to do this and make the app their own.
- The official Simplenote client applications are now open source and available on GitHub under the GPLv2 license. Get it! [Simplenote]
- In other news: This Chrome extension lets you view Instagram stories online. Developing an Instagram web view has always been a low priority for them, so it’s unlikely that new Snapchat-style stories will otherwise hit the site anytime soon. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Instagram bans this extension or closes any loophole it uses, so get it while it is there. [Chrome Store via TNW ]

- Beware of this dastardly beer! When you’re at a bar and all you need is a refreshing drink, avoid beers with insanely violent names like Monk’s Blood or Hellhound Ale. These are always weird IPAs that you will regret buying. Beware of dastardly beer. [Deadspin]
