Self-Licking Is Not a Must for a Good Budget.

Anyone with an opinion on your budget is likely to jump at the chance to tell you that cost cutting is the only way to save money. While it is true that cutting costs is an important part of balancing your budget, that does not mean that you have to constantly deprive yourself.

As personal finance site The Frugal Cottage explains, dedication is not the same as frugality. However, we often confuse the two. Savings and savings are all about finding the least expensive way to do what you need or need. Self-deprivation is simply saying no to everything at your expense. Only one of them really helps your budget and your life:

A balance must be found between spending and saving. There is nothing exciting or motivating about spending a dime and making your life more of a survival, or scraping and skimping to save everything. But there is nothing interesting about constantly spending money on the latest version of xyz. There must be your own balance between wants and needs, and having a goal will help you establish what it is.

Of course, this does not mean that you can say yes to whatever you want and still count on the savings. Part of balancing your budget is making the conscious choice to change your lifestyle to suit your budget. However, when you decide to do this, it will not be a deprivation. It’s a choice. Regardless of how you decide to structure your life, you need to give your desires some space, otherwise you will constantly break your own rules when things get tough.
