Ventusky Offers Real-Time Weather Conditions on a Beautiful Interactive Real-Time Map
There is no shortage of weather sites and web apps on the internet that will show you weather conditions now or predicted in the future, but Ventusky is brand new, looks great and shows the current conditions on a live, constantly updated map that you can drag and drop, click or just search to explore.
If you’re used to using a service like Google Maps, Ventusky will come naturally. Enter your location (if not auto-detected) to see your area, as well as a live map of temperatures and winds in your part of the world. You can adjust the height to see wind and cloud cover at different levels, or add additional layers such as cloud cover, precipitation, wind speed, snow cover, and more.
From there, you can view other parts of the world, or select a time span to reproduce changes in temperature or wind, movement of cloud cover, or storm systems. You can even view projected information ahead of time to see if you will be caught up in the storm tonight that your friend in the west mentioned in an email this morning. There’s even a handy settings panel that walks you through the web app’s features and explains the nuances.
Even if you use a different service for local forecasts and up-to-date weather data, Ventusky is one of those sites you could probably bookmark and not visit for a while. Click on the link below to try it out.
