Rest of the Day: You Can Now Play GameCube Games in Virtual Reality
Just last week we saw a major update to Dolphin , the best GameCube emulator for running classic games on your PC, and now some fearless soul has developed a version of Dolphin designed for VR headsets.
- Since Nintendo is slow to master virtual reality – ahem, except for Virtual Boy twenty years ago – an ingenious programmer created a virtual version of the Dolphin emulator. Granted, this won’t work perfectly, given that none of the games are designed for VR, but it’s a fun experiment to do around Metroid Prime in full 3D. [Reddit via motherboard ]
- In other news, the latest beta version of Chrome has a new broadcast feature. You can now cast any tab to a compatible device (like Google Chromecast ) without the need for a browser extension, and soon you will be able to cast your tabs directly to Hangouts . [The Next Web & Android Police]
- Plex for NVIDIA Shield is available now. It supports 4k video for those of you who love pixels the most. [Plex]
- The big news this morning was that Chris Evans is leaving Top Gear after just one season. The beleaguered host announced on Twitter that he is leaving the show after a tepid reception to his leadership of the car series. Police have also confirmed that they are investigating Evans on sexual assault charges in the 1990s. [Top gear]
May the fourth be with you on this sunny July day.
