This technique aims to prevent nail polish from getting on the cuticles and skin. It may sound silly, but before you start, go to the bathroom so you don’t ruin your nails while they dry, and loosen the caps on the nail polish bottles so you don’t struggle with them while your nails are wet.
As you can see in the diagram above, start with a small drop of nail polish, press down on the top of your nail and leave a small gap to keep the nail polish away from your skin. Then brush from the base to the middle of the nail, then from the base to the right side, then from the base to the left side.
