Rest of the Day: Twitter for Android Gets a New Look and Feel
Twitter for Android has a nice new design today that makes site navigation a little more enjoyable. In other news: Swarm adds perks to encourage signups (… like Foursquare!) And Google has a cool new animation app for iOS.
- Twitter for Android has undergone a change. The mobile app has a new design that makes it easier to navigate the various sections of Twitter. You can now navigate between the timeline and notification feeds, and there is a new navigation menu that slides out on the left, among other new features. A lot of slipping occurs. [Twitter]
- Twitter also makes it easy to embed timelines on websites. Just visit their new Publish site , enter your desired Twitter feed and they will generate an embed code. [via The Next Web ]
- Swarm now offers bonuses like coupon codes when you enter certain stores. Yes, just like it was with Foursquare before it was split into two different apps. Swarm also has new “challenges” in which users can participate in the lottery draw by checking in at certain types of locations. [TNW via Foursquare]
- Google has just released a new iOS app called Motion Stills. It’s a cross between iOS Live Photos and Instagram Hyperlapse; it uses video stabilization algorithms to create short animations from your existing Live Photos that either stabilize the background of the photo or smooth the camera pan, and it can even optimize the animation loop. It’s free on the App Store , so I know what I’m going to be doing this weekend: stabilize the GIF . [Google Research Blog]
- Uber will refund you $ 2 if your fleet is late. If your UberPool does not arrive earlier than scheduled, there will be a two dollar discount on your next ride. So that’s good. It also means that you will use it again to get your two dollars. [Uber Newsroom]
