Use Tahini Instead of Mayonnaise for a Creamier and Tastier Pasta Salad
If you’re allergic to eggs, just don’t like mayonnaise, or are tired of the same old recipes, pasta and potato salads may seem completely off the menu, but replacing tahini mayonnaise will give you a creamy, extremely flavorful salad, no. mayonnaise is needed.
If you are familiar with toasted sesame paste, you know that it is very spicy and very creamy and goes great with everything. (This is also a vegan product if you like it.) To make tahini sauce, start with equal parts tahini, olive oil and lemon juice, and add other flavors such as Dijon mustard, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Add pasta, potatoes, or broccoli to the dressing and add vegetables (or non-vegetables) as you see fit. As a result, the salad will be so delicious that you won’t even miss the mayonnaise.
