Simple Desktop With Side Panel
This cool city beach desktop was featured on our tabletop show and story by reader Yuki , and while not thought out, it still looks great. Here’s how you can set it up.
Yuki uses Rainmeter on Windows to get this effect, so if you’re not familiar with it, you can check out our Rainmeter Getting Started Guide here .
From there, here are the components you will need to achieve the same look and feel on your computer:
- Wallpaper
- Tool setting and monitoring system for Rainmeter for Windows
- Rainmeter Enigma skin for calendar and left sidebar
- Gnometer Skin for Rainmeter for Gmail Add-on
- Drizzle skin for Rainmeter for time and date effects
That’s all there is to know about it. Not a ton of moving parts, but a pretty solid effect, especially if you’re the type to skip the sidebar from earlier versions of Windows and want to bring something like this back to your desktops.
