OnePlus 3 Goes on Sale June 14, No Invitation Required

OnePlus has received widespread praise for their economical Android phones that don’t skimp on quality, but are thwarted by a custom invite system that makes them hard to buy. This will change soon with their latest release on June 14th.

Their new OnePlus 3 phone goes on sale June 14th, no invitation required. But there is a catch – OnePlus will be doing a “VR shopping” called Loop at 12:30 pm ET on the 14th , where the phone will be exclusively available. Otherwise, if you’re not up to the VR clown, the phones will go on sale at 3 p.m. ET on the same day, while stocks last. So if you want to buy the latest version of them, you better get ready to dive into virtual reality.

Virtual reality requires an app, which will be available here in the Play Store. (Presumably designed for Google Cardboard or similar viewers.) Details are few on the newest phone, but OnePlus CEO Carl Pei told Wired that it will cost around $ 350-400, and if you miss the first batch, the following orders will be filled by two up to three weeks after launch.

Update: OnePlus reached out to us to clarify the OnePlus 3’s pricing, which will be around $ 350-400, not $ 300 as originally reported.
