Non-Nexus Phones Can Now Download the Sweet Phone App From Google
Android: Last year, Google released a smart dialer app in the Play Store . At the time, they only worked on Nexus devices. However, now, tons of the latest phones can use them as well.
It looks like broader support has been active for several weeks, but recently, Android Police noticed a change. There is more to the Phone app than just a numeric keypad. It also includes visual voicemail, internet-based business smart contacts (if you allow it), and call blocking. If you decide to download it, be sure to change the default dialer app in your phone settings so that the Google app is also used when receiving phone calls.
Update: Just hours after posting this, Google updated the app to prevent the new dialer from being used on non-Nexus phones, which is very disappointing. Obviously broader support was a bug, not a feature . Forgive everyone.
