VRidge Runs PC VR Games on Your Google Cardboard Headset
Android / Windows: If you have a few thousand dollars to shell out for a VR-enabled PC and Oculus Rift headset, you can play VR right now. If you don’t, VRidge might let you play the same games on your phone inside the Google Cardboard suite .
The app uses a server running on your Windows PC to run games on your phone. VRidge is compatible with Oculus Rift games and also supports the Steam VR standard , which is currently included in some games. for example Job Simulator and Space Pirate Trainer . The developer warns that VRidge is still in beta, so if you plan on buying VR games to play with this app, you are taking the risk. Also keep in mind that while some phones have ultra-high-definition displays, they likely can’t match the quality level of Oculus or a comparable headset. It won’t be a perfect experience, but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than the expensive setup you need for a full VR system right now.
