Trim Your Wedding Guest List With These Guilt-Free Rules
Making a list of wedding invitees is more difficult than it should be, especially when you have a lot of other things to worry about, like budget. Here are seven types of people you can safely leave your guest list for your big day without guilt.
It’s natural to want to share your wedding day with everyone, but as your head count grows, so does the cost. And it goes up a lot. If you need to start shrinking your list, Apartment Therapy’s Taryn Williford suggests you revisit these people:
- Anyone you haven’t spoken to in a year
- Colleagues you’ve never seen outside of work
- People you are going to invite just because they invited you to their event
- Anyone who presents drama or creates a bad atmosphere by their presence.
- Anyone your parents only want to invite (unless they pay part of the bill)
- For those you don’t normally buy dinner for
- No one your partner has met
Of course, you can cut or not cut whoever you want, but at least this list gives you a starting point. This is your wedding, so do what makes you happy, not what you think you need to do.
