Remains of the Day: Giphy Keys for IOS: GIFs at Your Fingertips
Remember when everyone cheered on the advent of third-party keyboards on iOS, only to realize that the default keyboard didn’t really need to be repaired? Well! One thing the default keyboard can’t do is insert GIFs into every damn message you send without having to go to another app.
- Giphy, your friendly GIF search engine next door, has just released a keyboard for iOS that makes sharing GIFs just about anywhere simple and easy. Perhaps too simple. I am not sure if I will ever reply to the text with the real text again. While I would n’t recommend using it as your primary search keyboard for GIFs it takes up some extra real estate screen, it’s still a fun toy. [GIPHY]
- Spotify has made it much easier to navigate its iOS app . They ditched the left hamburger button ( look up ) in favor of the bottom navigation bar, just like any other sane app. [The Verge]
- Amazon Prime Now is now available online . Prime Now is a 2-hour same day delivery service available in select cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Portland, San Diego, and Seattle. The service has been around for a couple of years, but used to require an app. [Amazon via Gizmodo ]
- You can now ask a cookware specialist to come and repair your iPhone . Yes, satellite company Dish. They already have a fleet of professionals in vans, right? So does that make sense? Because installing satellite receivers is replacing a broken phone screen? Never mind. It’s more expensive than Apple, but they’ll obviously turn to you. [The Verge]
