Go to Bed Early to Remind Yourself of Your Natural Awakening
Let’s face it, waking up to an awesome alarm sound isn’t the best way to start your day. If you want to go to bed on time, just keep reminding yourself how great it is to wake up alone in the morning.
According to Gretchen Rubin, author of Better Than Before , finding and following the right time to sleep comes down to finding the right balance between what you do before bed and how you want to feel:
Remind yourself how nice it is to wake up naturally before the alarm goes off, without that nauseating wake-up call. Then, when you’re surfing the Internet at 11:30 pm, ask yourself, “Am I compromising?”
When you start getting sucked into your old routine of watching TV or scrolling through Facebook before bed, decide if those activities are more valuable than the pleasure of getting enough sleep and waking up quietly. By exercising a little foresight every night, you’ll develop a pretty healthy habit.
