Save to Google Is a Pocket-Sized Chrome Extension for Saving Articles
Chrome: Not content with Pocket being in the spotlight , Google introduced a new extension called Save to Google that lets you save articles for later reading.
While it is comparable to Pocket, regular Pocket users may find that some features are missing. Technically, Save to Google does not capture the text of the article itself. Instead, it gives you a link that you can follow later. You can also add notes or tags to the article you saved to organize your links and remember why you saved them. You can also save images when doing image searches on Google, so this looks more like a notebook than a direct replacement for Pocket.
So far, there are no mobile apps in which to find articles or images that you saved later. The only way to find your saved items is to visit google.com/save . It’s pretty limited at the moment, but it’s a quick and easy way to browse through the articles you’ve saved now that Google has ended its short bookmarking experiment .
