Amazon’s New Kindle Oasis Costs $ 289 for a Deluxe E-Reader
Amazon today announced a new addition to the Kindle lineup. Oasis is by far the most expensive Kindle of them all, but it also strives to be the most beautiful.
The Oasis has a curved edge that makes it easy to fit in one hand while reading. It has the same 300ppi screen as the Kindle Voyage , but it contains more LEDs so you can adjust the brightness more.
Oasis also comes in a leather case with a built-in rechargeable battery. Reducing the weight of the Oasis itself has removed a bit of room for the battery, but the case helps to increase its capacity. Amazon says the combined dual-battery strategy allows the device to last for several months.
Whether it’s worth $ 289 is up to you. For avid readers who never put their Kindle away, Oasis is probably the best option you can get right now. For casual readers, however, it might come as a bit of a sticker shock. Fortunately, then you have a lot of cheaper Kindles.
