Repairman Corner Workplace
Working spaceMarc Jordan are clean, tidy and actually looks like it someone doing his job – mostly because Mark – an expert on the PC and uses the entire area to the left for the repair and maintenance of client systems. This is not to say that his basic setup is not pretty at all.
Mark’s main computer is a Mac, boasting a beautiful curved wooden monitor stand, Bose speakers, and a pair of phones (one for work and one for personal use) iPhone and LG G4, which he uses with his Moto 360 smartwatch. In fact, you can see a close-up of his phones here , as well as a more recent photo with some Android figures featuring guest stars . As for his technique, here’s what he says he uses day in and day out:
My office / workshop as of March 2016. On the left is my “workshop” where I service and repair client computers / laptops. This desk is a compromise between a 2014 MacMini and an old Dell 2007FP 21-inch monitor. On the right is my 2015 iPad Mini (Retina model), Apple 24-inch LED cinema screen, and 2012 MacBook Pro (256GB SSD / 16GB RAM / Intel i5).
Like me, when I had a similar laptop setup with a display (and this is a previously presented workspace ), it uses the smaller display exclusively for Spotify and other screens that it would like to control, but not necessarily work:
All this music is played from a pair of tiny Bose speakers right under the monitor stand in the center of his desk – the Bose Companion 3 Series II, which will set you back around $ 250-270 on Amazon, if you’re wondering. Here’s a more detailed look:
Overall, this is a great workspace that looks comfortable and cozy to work with every day, and most importantly, has ample room to work on other computers without dragging unnecessary clutter into your own. If you’ve ever made a living fixing systems, you know it’s very important to have some space to leave them while they run diagnostics, install the OS, or just sit back while you research what the hell is wrong. with them on your own system.
