Store Leftover Frying Oil in the Freezer
Fatty foods freeze very well. Cold and dark helps prevent greasy foods from going rancid, so freezing bacon and even bacon fat is a great idea. The same goes for cooking oil residues.
Dan Souza of America’s Test Kitchen shared this tip with Tech Insider:
“You can definitely use the oil in your deep fryer multiple times,” says Sousa. “Make sure you strain it, transfer it to an airtight container and toss it in the freezer.”
The next time you cook a large batch of fries, donuts, fried chicken, or other fried foods, don’t throw away the oil. Store it in the freezer and save money on your next batch.
