Tropical Desktop
This desktop, sent by reader Amy, brings a little summer to our screens that we can always appreciate. Best of all, it’s pretty optimized and doesn’t require a ton of tweaking to get the one you want. If you want the same look, this is how Amy did it.
Amy is using Windows if you can’t tell, so this is another Rainmeter install. If you’re new to Rainmeter, you can check out our beginner’s guide here to get your bearings first and then give it a try.
After that, here’s what you need:
- Wallpaper
- Tool setting and monitoring system for Rainmeter for Windows
- Simplic skin for Rainmeter for date and time as well as other active widgets
This week is beautiful and simple, which is great. Even if there is only one real widget running on top of Rainmeter, the image remains sharp and does exactly what Amy wants. Since she emailed this to us directly, we cannot link to her blog Kinja or anything else, but if you like what you see or have questions, please leave a comment and hopefully she stops at conversation to answer them!
Do you have a beautiful and functional desktop to show off? Share with us! Post it to your personal Kinja blog using the Desktop Showcase tag or add it to our Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr pool . Screenshots must be at least 1280×720 and include information about what you used, links to wallpapers, skins and themes, and any other important information. If your wonderful desktop catches our attention, you may be on our favorites!
