Alcohol does not always get better with age . This graphic from eReplacementParts offers some rules of thumb for when you should throw liquor and other items out of your bar cart.
Unless the bottle is open and well sealed, base alcohols will last indefinitely. But once opened, you have 6 months to 1 year before the alcohol starts to spoil, depending on the drink. Kitchn says 6-8 months is the standard in the alcohol industry for spirits to tarnish and lose flavor, but for the average person, 8 months to a year is probably fine.
