MuscleWiki Helps You Discover New Exercises for Specific Muscle Groups
If you’ve ever wanted to learn a variety of new exercises for specific muscle groups, visit MuscleWiki. It’s free, easy to use, and even calculates macronutrients and calories .
MuscleWiki is a user-friendly, beginner-friendly fitness resource with a clean interface built by w0ts0n (not anotherlifter on Reddit). I am actually digging an interactive map of the major muscle groups. When you press, say, the biceps, you are taken to a separate page with a list of exercises that work that particular muscle (in this case, the biceps), with descriptions and gifs. It’s not very verbose yet and doesn’t have an extensive library, but it does offer a good starting point for newbies.
You can also quickly calculate your calorie needs based on your fitness goal, which you can then plug into the macronutrient calculator to break down macronutrients (read this to find out the difference between calorie and macronutrient counts ). Another useful feature is a 1-rep calculator that can estimate the maximum weight you can safely lift in one rep without checking it yourself in the gym (a risky maneuver).
Overall MuscleWiki is still under development. The creator informed ProductHunt users that he is still working on expanding the exercise database with additions such as body weight exercises. It’s a great start, and over time, it can be a great resource. Meanwhile, ExRx.net is a very detailed, albeit less modern, website for fitness enthusiasts of all stripes to dive into.
