Google Photos Gets Non-Destructive Editing, No Longer Duplicates Photos
Google Photos has tons of amazing ways to edit your images . However, when you make changes, the application forces you to save a copy in order to keep the original. Photos can now make changes and keep the original without cluttering up your albums.
As Android Police found out in the last teardown, when you make changes to an image in the newest version of the Photos app, it will save a new copy in the same location with the changes applied. However, if you open it later, you can undo the changes you made to restore the original. This still gives you the ability to edit the image without fear of destroying it, and it also cleans up a lot of duplicates from your albums, which you can quickly put together by editing a bunch of photos.
