Adam Savage’s DIY Puppy Car Seat Can Be Secured in Place to Protect Your Upholstery
Adam Savage, who became famous MythBusters, and now working in the company Tested , required car seat for his dogs, which would fit right into the back of his brand new car – one that would protect leather interior, but it would be thick enough and strong, not to move. when they get noisy. He did it, and it works like an amulet.
Ultimately, Adam wanted a seat that wouldn’t move in the car, go astray, or fall to the floor when the dogs moved around, so he came up with this thick, custom plush pillow that covers the entire seat and locks in place. with dowels in the space between the seat and the back of the seat and covers the entire seat so that dogs can lie down and walk without tearing the leather upholstery. Plus, it’s relatively easy to make if you collect everything you need (muslin, canvas, polyfill, and a few other assorted items available at your local craft store) and access a sewing machine.
Of course, this is not a perfect system – ideally Adam’s solution would also protect the seat back, and as a number of commentators have pointed out in Tested, it would be great if the system could be “buckled” with a seat. straps in the back so it does n’t really move. However, this is a great solution that you can copy at home. Click the play button above to see it in action, or check it out on the Tested page below.
