Hide Your Valuables Inside a Hollowed Out Decorative Candle

Decorative candles – the ones not normally lit – look and smell nice, but it would be great to get some benefit from them. Here’s how you can gouge one out and hide valuables inside.

This video from youtuber MrGear shows you how to hollow out the bottom of a candle and make a secret compartment. Use a drill with a drill to drill the holes and drill the base of the large decorative candle (peel off the sticker and keep it for later). Then carefully cut out the rest of the hole with a knife. You can also use a wooden shovel or spatula if you want to do everything in one sitting. Save all the wax you drilled and cut out, turn it into a disc by melting it in the lid of the can, and shape the disc so that it fits into the hole in the bottom of the hollowed out candle. Now stick some cash or valuables into the candle, close it with a lid and melt it with a lighter or mini-flashlight.

Once you stick the sticker back on, the candle will look like new. No one will ever suspect that there is something inside. Of course, once the stuff is there, it won’t come out very easily. This trick is probably best for stashing away some cash in case of an emergency or something you don’t need on a regular basis.
