MySleepButton Lulls You to Sleep With Cognitive Science
Android / iOS: If you find it difficult to fall asleep at times, try this app. MySleepButton helps to unsettle the imagination of random images.
Update / Fix: Earlier in this post, it said the app is free, but it’s free for iOS only and costs $ 2.99 for Android.
Choose how long you want the app to play and click the Put me to sleep button. The woman will utter random words like “jaguar” and “pencil” and you have to represent each of them. It distracts your mind from other thoughts that might distract you, and is surprisingly effective in making your mind tired and in a sleep-induced state. The app was developed by cognitive science researcher Dr. Baudouin of Simon Fraser University.
Other options in the app are to imagine scenes (for example, “a bird on a branch”), imagine how you draw various objects, and change the voice. Some options are only available for in-app purchases between $ 3 and $ 5.
