Uber’s New Family Profiles Allow up to 10 Passengers to Use One Account
Uber today launched its version of the family travel sharing plan, which lets you share your account and payment methods with nine other people. The best part is that these nine people can be family, friends, or colleagues.
Right. Although the new feature is called Family Profiles, it’s up to you to decide who the family is. Once the feature is available in your area and you have the latest version of the Uber app, go to the menu and select Settings. Find “Add Family Profile” and select the contacts you want to add to your account. It could be a loved one who can’t drive alone, your child in college who needs a way to get home safely at all times, or even some coworkers or co-workers who are traveling. They will receive an invitation from you and, once they accept it, they will be able to request rides from their phone using your account and payment methods. Whoever created a family profile will always receive receipts when using their account. In a blog post, Uber notes that Family Profiles will be launching today in Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix, but will soon appear elsewhere.
