B4UFLY Helps Plan Drone or Model Aircraft Flights in Accordance With FAA Regulations
Android / iOS: If you’re a drone lover or love flying model airplanes, you’re probably used to staying away from the FAA . The agency has now released B4UFLY to help hobbyists stay out of the way of larger planes.
The app, officially released by the Federal Aviation Administration, allows you to check your area now or on a planned future flight date to see if the skies are clear for your drone or aircraft. The app will tell you if you are within five miles of the airport and warn you if something needs to be done before take off. It is not a complete substitute for knowing the rules , but it is a handy tool if you travel regularly.
