These Beautifully Painted Pickled Eggs Will Be on Your Easter Table
Words like “elegant” and “stunning” may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of pickled eggs, but these naturally colored beauties from Epicurious are the prettiest .
Not only are they pleasing to the eye, but they also take on their appearance from delicious vegetables and spices, which means you can eat Easter eggs without eating PAAS.
To make them, you will need a cup of white vinegar and two teaspoons of salt and sugar for every six hard-boiled eggs. The rest of the ingredients depend on what color you are aiming for. You should click the link below to learn how to make all four colors, but I especially love purple, which uses baking soda and vinegar to enhance the purple kale. In addition to the ingredients listed above, you will need a cup of chopped kale, a teaspoon of cumin, and two teaspoons of baking soda.
Add cabbage and cumin and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Drizzle with eggs. Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and stir until the foam dies down, then add the remaining 1 teaspoon. baking soda. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight for a darker magenta shade.
The only drawback here? These things are so beautiful that I hesitate to eat them. (Not for long though, after all, hunger always wins.)
