Retailers Who Give You Bulk Discounts
Maybe it’s a home renovation project; maybe you have an office. Whatever the reason, sometimes you need to buy things in bulk. And some stores, even larger ones, offer discounts when buying in bulk. They don’t actually advertise these discounts, but luckily, Kyle James of Rather Be Shopping did some research for us.
James lists the “bulk discount” policies of 16 major retailers, from Costco to Best Buy and Staples. Here are some specific policies:
Home Depot : Home Depot has a bulk discount program in which they assign discounts on wholesale prices and is worth looking into if you are doing a DIY project and buying a lot of things. Basically, you are making your list of projects, and if your total is at least $ 2,500, you are likely to be eligible for a volume discount. Talk to a Home Depot Pro partner at Pro Desk and request a quote to see how much you can save.
Best Buy: A Best Buy Advantage account is a great way to get bulk discounts for your business. Your account will give you access to your personal account manager who can help you with “finding hard-to-find products or technologies for pricing and ordering high volumes, we provide the products and services you need to succeed.”
Sam’s Club : They offer what they call palletised items that can save you significant money on items like folding chairs, dining chairs, office carbon paper, office tables, bottled water, folding tables, sports drinks, gift baskets and office chairs. Great program if you are starting a new small business.
The specifics of each policy are different, and some are quite expensive. However, this is something to keep in mind if you ever need to buy in bulk. To see the full list, go to the post below.
