Overcome Potholes Straight If You Can’t Avoid Them
Pits on the roads are everywhere, especially just after winter. Not only are they annoying, but they can damage your car if you’re not careful.
If you are driving on a road that you know is slightly less worn out, slow down and watch for potholes in the road to avoid them. However, no matter how hard you try, hitting a pothole is inevitable. In this case, Consumer Reports’ Gene Peterson suggests that you slow down as much as possible (safely) and then drive straight over the pothole. If you hit it at an odd angle or hit a pothole while driving over it, you could damage the sidewall of the tires. Tires damaged in this way can burst and create a much more serious situation. Also, getting off the road at the last second can be very dangerous. If you hit a pothole directly and something is wrong with your driving style, check it as soon as possible. It is also recommended to always maintain the tire pressure at the recommended level.
