Avoiding Shampoo Will Not Make Your Hair Less Oily.
Thinking of giving up shampoo? Probably best to wash your hair the time of the time, than to wash the lather every day, but if you are afraid of “not crap” because you do not want oily hair – well, you’re right.
As explained in this American Chemical Society video, the sebaceous glands in your scalp cannot magically know how much oil is in the rest of your hair. So even if you stop shampooing, you still have to deal with oil. They suggest using starch or clay to help absorb the oil, in other words dry shampoo, handicrafts, or whatever.
I’ve tried banning poop twice. There was once an active, sweaty summer when my hair became oily and coarse. The other was after the operation – I was told not to wet the incision, and I was perfectly content to lie on the couch without getting painkillers. I didn’t care if my hair was greasy. Without the sweat and dirt, my hair looked mostly fine, but not that my sebaceous glands suddenly acquired telepathy.
What alternatives do you have? ACS gives you an excellent wash with conditioner: it removes some of the dirt and oil, but not as effectively as shampoo. There is nothing wrong with that if you like the results. Where they draw the line is the famous combination of apple cider vinegar and baking soda , which they say can damage your hair. Watch the full video to see what happens when you quit shampoo.
