Digit Launches App to Help Manage Automatic Savings and Balances
iOS: Money saving tool Digit is great for automating your savings. It finds extra money in your budget and then automatically saves it. Digit released an iOS app this week.
Previously, all transactions were made via SMS or through the Digit website. Their new app keeps Digit simplicity, but also allows you to check balances, transfer money and see how the tool determines your savings. Right now, they have released an iOS-only app, but are working on an Android version.
We’ve covered Digit before , and it’s a pretty handy tool that I use all the time to save some extra money. It checks your spending habits, spending and upcoming bills to determine how much extra change you can save on a daily basis. You can ask him to save more or less, or you can simply let him do his thing and automatically save money for you. They also offer a “no overdraft” guarantee, meaning if they accidentally overdraft your account, they will pay all fees.
You do need to link your bank account information, but they use bank-level security and founder Ethan Bloch told me they don’t store your bank login and password. While they store your account number, they use asymmetric cryptography to keep your information secure. You can read more about their privacy policyhere .
