Turn IPhone Into a Cheap Bullet-Time Camera With Homemade Centrifon
About a month ago, Swiss skier and youtuber Nicolas Vouinier wowed the internet with his clever concept of turning a smartphone into slow-motion video and a Bullet Time camera. He now shares his designs for free, so you can create your own.
The device, called the Centriphone, looks like a kind of airplane model that houses your smartphone, so the camera is always pointed at you when you rotate it around you. This allows you to record interesting footage on your iPhone 6 or 6s, and if you shoot in slow motion, you get a great slow motion effect (see video above). The design of the car makes your shots fairly stable and can be used to capture unique footage of whatever action you take. To build it on your own Centriphone, you’ll need a 3D printer or a way to outsource 3D printing , but you can also buy a ready-made printer from the Vuignier website (GoPro versions are also available). You can find open source DIY plans and instructions at the link below.
