Top Ways to Convince Seven Different Internet and Phone Companies to Lower Your Bill

This month, we introduced you to bargaining on bills so you can save money throughout the year. There are several tried and true negotiating tactics that should help, but they do help to flesh out. At Rather Be Shopping, Kyle James offers an overview of seven specific providers, from AT&T to Time Warner.

When you call your ISP, cable or telephone provider for a better price, you should do your research. At Rather Be Shopping, James has done your research and has compiled a list of seven popular vendors. A few highlights from the list:

Comcast : Thanks to an anonymous commentator, I have new information about Comcast. “First, the worst thing you can say is that you are going to AT&T. The reason is that every Comcast representative has been trained to compare Comcast to another provider and show that Comcast is the best value for money. The best thing to say is that I can’t afford my bill and I want to stay with Comcast, but if you can’t lower it, I’ll have to stream my TV … Also, the storage representative has the same suggestions as from the supervisor. … The lowest price a representative can get is roughly 20% of the bill because you collect money from the representative. “

Time Warner : This great piece of advice comes from a loyal reader, Reed, who discusses his bill with Time Warner Cable annually … “If you don’t discuss your bill on an annual basis with Time Warner, you’re clearly overspending. Once you get your desired monthly rate, be sure to call back every 12 months to keep it going, otherwise they will raise your rate without informing you.

AT&T: Study your monthly bill with a serrated comb. AT&T is notorious for adding a ton of additional monthly payments. Look for things like AT&T Family Card, AT&T Navigator, Smart Limits, Enhanced Voicemail, and Detailed Additional Payments. If you are not using a function, CUT TO IMMEDIATELY.

Keep in mind that this detail is mostly based on his own experience and reader feedback, so your own experience will certainly be different. That said, when you’re trying to trade your accounts, it doesn’t hurt to see what worked for others. Check out the full post at the link below.
