Two Tips to Make Vacuuming Super Soft or Super Soft Carpets Easier
The ultra plush rug looks and feels good, but its thickness makes vacuuming a lot more difficult. Here are two simple things you can do to make vacuuming easier.
This video from YouTube channel Consumer Reports demonstrates how standard vacuum cleaners get stuck on carpets that are marketed as ultra-plush or ultra-soft. The thickness of the carpet fibers causes the vacuum to seal too tightly, and the bristles on the power head of the vacuum cleaner have too many fibers to comb through. There are vacuum cleaners designed to work with an ultra-plush carpet, but you don’t need to buy one just yet. If you have an ultra-plush carpet in your home, there are two things you can do to make vacuuming easier:
- Raise the manual height adjustment on the power head of your vacuum cleaner.
- Adjust and lower the suction control on your vacuum cleaner.
The combination of these two settings will prevent the vacuum cleaner from getting stuck or jammed and will allow your vacuum cleaner to perform just as well as on thicker carpets. If that doesn’t work for you, there are several other ways to clean your carpet until you get an ultra plush vacuum cleaner.
