When to Start Watching the Super Bowl If You Want to Avoid the Pre-Game Holidays
If you can’t make it to the Super Bowl live, or you just aren’t interested in the main Super Bowl cutscenes before you were born, you probably want to skip four hours of pre-game activity. That’s when to tune in if you just want to catch the start.
A couple of years ago, SEOs used to joke about the Super Bowl start time . Jokes aside, in the past few decades, the start time has been around 6:30 pm ET . So if you want to skip the pre-game, talking heads, flashy CGI bullshit and player overlays, and all the mind-numbing historical retrospective of past Super Bowls (especially since it’s Super Bowl 50) and footage from previous games this season, schedule your dash cam for this time.
If you only want to watch ads , tune in a few minutes after the start of the game, probably around 6:35, as there is usually a break in ads right after the first game of the game. The commercials start early, though, so you can just start recording at 6:30 am to make sure you see it all!
