Get More Out of Your Museum Visit While Avoiding “museum Fatigue”
You may find that a visit to a museum is more fun if you actually spend less time inside and spread it over several visits.
As Jeremy Underberg of Art of Manliness explains , ” museum fatigue ” is a phenomenon that occurs after you explore a museum for several hours. You start to hide the exhibits, stop reading the signs, and you get bored, even if the objects seem to you fascinating. This is why Anderberg recommends that you spend only a few hours a day at the museum and try to make multiple visits so you can really get it all figured out. Obviously this isn’t always possible (especially when you’re traveling), but if it’s at your local museum, you might want to look into the season pass or just save a few sections for your next visit. If you are traveling and will probably never return, decide on must-see exhibitions and skip the rest. You can find more helpful museum tips at the link below.
