Google Lets You Install Apps Directly From Search Results
Android: When you search for an app name, Google already shows you direct links to the Play Store where you can download it. Now some users see the ability to install apps without ever leaving the Google app itself.
As reported by Android Police, many users see the ability to install apps directly from search results. As you can see in the images above, a popup shows the process of approving permissions and installing the app on top of the search results for the app. This is a minor change to the regular stream that opens the Google Play Store before allowing you to install the app, but it’s a handy way.
Android Police says they’ve received enough advice from users using the feature to believe widespread adoption has already begun. When I tested this, I didn’t have this feature yet, and Google didn’t make an announcement. As we learn more, we will update the information on how you can get this feature. If you see this on your device, please let us know!
