Plug Raspberry Pi Zero Into Nintendo Controller for Old School Gaming
We’ve already seen how the Raspberry Pi Zero was housed in an Xbox controller, but if you’re looking for a project that’s a little more retro, then an NES controller might be more suitable for you.
All you need is an old Nintendo controller and access to a 3D printer ( this should be a fairly cheap mod that can be printed somewhere). Basically, you’ll just break your Nintendo controller in half, place the Pi inside, and then plug the Pi into the NES buttons. It seems like the back cover of a Nintendo controller is too small and this is where 3D printing comes in. A browsing on Thingiverse revealed several different options for 3D printing, including one that makes things super easy and one that imagines it a bit . Either one should work fine, and once you’ve got everything set up, you can take this sucker with you wherever you go. Visit Thingiverse to learn about the different options and images, how to connect everything.
