Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 Are No Longer Supported, Update Now
This is the end of the line for Windows 8.0 and Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10. Since Microsoft already supports them today, it is time to “upgrade or hack”.
If you haven’t upgraded Windows to 8.1 yet, or completely upgraded to Windows 10, you are not alone. In December 2015, Computerworld estimated that 48 million computers were running Windows 8 (one in five devices uses Windows 8 instead of 8.1). However, it’s time to let go.
End of support for Windows 8 and IE means there will be no more security fixes and technical support. However, IE 11 will continue to be supported and Microsoft recommends upgrading to IE 11 first before uninstalling IE 8, 9, or 10 . Windows 8.1, released more than two years ago, will be supported until January 10, 2023.
