Extend the Shelf Life of Vermouth by Refrigerating It
Vermouth might seem like it has a long shelf life because it looks like a bottle of liquor, but this cocktail ingredient can go bad pretty quickly if you’re not careful.
If you love storing vermouth for your homemade martini or Manhattan, Chad Ashman recommends storing it in the refrigerator after you open it. As much as you want to keep gin and vermouth together, it can go bad after a couple of weeks if left alone. A drop of old vermouth is enough to ruin a great cocktail, so dig into the liquor cabinet and put it back. Ashman also advises buying the mixer only in small bottles if you don’t use it as often. However, if you have spoiled wine, you can use it for cooking, just like with leftover wine. Find out more about vermouth at the link below.
