Give Each Item on Your to-Do List a Goal for Motivation.
We all have days when we are completely uninterested in our daily tasks. To increase your motivation and strength in completing these tasks, give each item on your to-do list a specific goal.
This advice comes via the blog for Any.do To-Do List Manager. They suggest that because your to-do list informs you of what your day or week will look like, it’s easy enough to turn those tasks into motivators. One way to do this is to give them a specific goal. For instance:
Books are always part of my to-do list. Here’s what I said three weeks ago when I set up a reminder to read Bill McGowan’s Pitch Perfect:
“Read Pitch Perfect
But it was boring, and I was carried over all the time. I changed this. Here’s what was said last week:
Use Pitch Perfect to Energize Next Week’s Partner Presentation
Now that was what worried me. Not every challenge should cheer you up, but if something pulls you down, try rethinking it. This is a nice trick that works every time.
Of course, this won’t work for every challenge, and as the post mentioned, not every challenge is going to be interesting no matter how hard you try. But it’s a fun trick to try when you’re planning your tasks for the week. For more details please follow the link below.
