Find the Perfect Safety Razor Blade With Sample Kit

Safety razors are a great way to get a cheaper, less annoying shave . But unlike cartridge razors, there are many different blades, and which one you like best will depend on your razor and your skin. Try using the sample set to find the perfect blade.

Ask 10 Britons what their favorite blade is and you get 10 different answers. So if you’ve been using the same blades from day one, you may have missed the opportunity. Michael Ham, writer and shaving expert, explains:

Feather blades, to take another example, fit very well for me with some razors (only Feather, Gillette Tech and a couple of others premium stainless steel razor for me) but a very skilled and experienced razor that I know is not can use a feather blade regardless of the razor: his skin just can’t handle that particular blade. So you can’t blame the blade, razor, or razor: the combination may or may not work. But to say that the problem is inherent in any of them is an attempt to make things easier than they really are.

… … … while you can change the brand of the blade and / or the specific razor, you cannot change yourself – you can change your training and your technique, but not your skin or beard: you are permanent. But understand that the combination of blade and razor that works for you may not work for someone else at all.

So, to find the best blade for your razor and your skin, take a sample set of several different brands and try each one for a couple of weeks. Michael offers a few places to buy sampler kits on his blog, but Amazon has quite a few places of different brands, so this is a good place to start. Be sure to try each razor at least a few times before writing it off, and check out Michael’s full blog post below for more information.
