Netflix Gets New, Redesigned Windows 10 App With Live Tiles and Cortana Commands

Netflix has always been one of the most worthwhile apps for Windows 10 , but today it received a big update with live tiles, a new interface, and Cortana integration.

The app has been rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up as a universal Windows 10 app available for desktops and tablets (phones coming soon). The new app offers customizable live tiles that show illustrations of the show that you can “keep watching”, as well as a new web-like experience. However, it’s up to you to decide if you prefer this to the old grid interface (I can’t decide).

The search and Cortana integration is probably the coolest new feature:

The search results design has also been updated to offer results for some of the searches. In addition, the new Netflix app includes built-in Cortana commands to control experiences and navigate content using just your voice. You can enter commands such as “Cortana, start Netflix” or “Netflix, find House of Cards.” Cortana’s other commands include Netflix Search House of Cards, Netflix Search House of Cards, and others.

And, of course, the app still has all the great features it used to have, like better video quality than the web interface. So if you haven’t used it before, this is the best time to start. (Unless you want the advanced features of our own Flix Plus plugin, in which case you will need to use the Internet.) Read more at the link below.
