The FAA announced yesterday that recreational drones must be registered by February 19, 2016. However, not all drones require registration and this can be a little confusing. If you’re not sure if you need to register your drone, you can check out this handy list.
The FAA has its own list of examples of drones that require registration, but it is not very detailed. Luckily, the folks at Wired have put together a simple chart that lists the most popular drones and whether they need to be registered under the new FAA laws. For example, all DJI Phantom and Inspire models require registration, but the Air Hogs Millenium Falcon or Parrot Rolling Spider minidron does not. You can see the complete list at the link below.
