Yahoo Video Guide Consolidates All Your Streaming Apps Into One Single Recommendations System
Android / iOS: If you are subscribed to many different video streaming services, you know it can be difficult to choose which one to watch. The Yahoo Video Guide makes this a lot easier by showing you all the available service options that you actually use.
When you first open an app, it will scan your phone for video streaming apps (like Netflix, Amazon Video, HBO Go, ABC, Fox, etc.) and then make a list of app-based watch recommendations you installed (you can always add additional services manually if you like). From there, you can search movies and shows based on the Featured tab, by genre, right from the search bar, or with the awkward GIF-based mood picker. You can also exclude paying for something by filtering out rental or purchase options. The guidelines themselves are a bit general and not based on your viewing habits, but essentially they allow you to view all of the video options on each service at the same time, which is great when you’re tuned into a specific genre. …
Once you select something to watch, hit the play button and it will automatically open in the video viewing app in which it is available. This is a much better option than the apps we’ve seen before, and should make it much easier to find something to watch between multiple services.
