Improve Store-Bought Applesauce With a Little Maple Syrup

Applesauce is a great addition to many holiday treats (latkes, ham, roast pork), but store-bought items may be a little short on stock. Luckily, you can easily spice it up with what you probably already have in your fridge.

Epicurious has three great options for improving store-bought gravy, including the old way of adding your own cinnamon, but the easiest way to get that extra seasonal flavor is to add real maple syrup. If you want a sweet and slightly sour sauce, add a little apple cider vinegar. (This combination is especially delicious with ham.)
