Cut Off a Stuck Nail or Screw With This Wood Hand Saw
If you have a nail or screw that you cannot remove , then cutting it off may be the best option. If you don’t have a metal saw, this trick will allow you to use the back of a regular wood saw and avoid damaging your teeth.
This YouTube video from Shake the Future demonstrates an easy and quick way to turn the back of your woodworking handsaw into a makeshift metal blade. Take a hammer, crowbar, screwdriver, or file and tap the flat back of your hand saw blade well to form sores. Be sure to spread them apart and you can create some very small but useful saw teeth that can cut through metal. Now you can cut through a nail or screw using the back of the hand saw blade and keep your normal teeth protected.
