Take a Break From Budgeting No Cost November
If you haven’t been to a mall, retail store, or turned on the radio recently, then this is almost the time that everyone on Earth wants your money. Take a break from No Spend November. Even if you start a little late.
As personal finance blog Money Ning points out, the holiday season can be killer for most people’s budgets. However, November is also a month when many people celebrate a holiday that appreciates what you already have. This makes November ideal for a spending freeze.
As with any personal budget problem, you can create rules for yourself to decide what you want to achieve. Want to wait until December to start shopping for gifts (and give yourself time to save)? Wonderful. Perhaps you just want to disallow all impulse purchases and only buy what you have already planned. This can help you sharply narrow down the sales and “deals” that will be offered to you this month that are really worth your time.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with spending money this time of year, and yes, Lifehacker will help with the temptation . However, if you want to proactively protect your budget when it is most vulnerable, set some ground rules for how much and when you spend in November. Check out MoneyNing’s post below to learn how to set helpful rules for your budget.
