SiteJabber Shows You Online Store Reviews Before You Buy
Chrome: Everyone is shopping on Amazon, but there are thousands of other retailers online who will love your business. The problem is knowing if they are legal or if you are wasting your money. That’s where SiteJabber comes in: their new Chrome extension makes it easy to find out before you buy.
Once installed, the SiteJabber extension starts working with search results and the pages you visit. When you search for a product or something else, you will see the SiteJabber logo next to the search results, color-coded to show what the SiteJabber community thinks about the site or retailer. Green is rising, yellow means the seller or site has mixed reviews, and red means most ratings are bad. Gray color means that the site has no rating.
The service operates on a five-star rating system, which, of course , is a double-edged sword , and reviews are not always helpful. While we didn’t find many fake reviews, we did find many sites with few reviews or just vengeful reviews (also known as “Yelp Syndrome”) poisoning the well. We’ve also seen loads of testimonials without helpful information or people who rate sites poorly (and highly) with no real reason or excuse. SiteJabber has been around for a long time, and instead of taking it as the last word on a website or a merchant, use it as another data point to help you decide whether to give it a try – or broaden your shopping horizons a bit. … You don’t need to register for a SiteJabber account to use the add-on, but it’s a good idea if you want to join the community.
Update: If you’re not using Chrome, you can still get the Sitejabber extension for your browser. Just go here in Firefox, Safari or IE to get your version.
